In The Presence of God

images

I was sitting here thinking what It would be like to be in the presence of God. That day when we get to live our daily lives with Him. Then I realized that before it all, I would be held accountable for all my actions here on Earth. That thought overwhelmed me. Will I be ashamed, will I be proud, will I be humble.

We all are accountable for our actions, good or bad. We think that because we are not seen, we can do as we please. Well, because we have free will, yes, we can do what we please. However, God sees all and he will be our final judge.

I don’t want that day to come and be ashamed. I want that day to come and be proud of the good things I have done. For that reason, I keep my eyes on Him and ask for help when I need it. I want his blessing. I want to know that I am not stumbling around. I want to have a pure heart. I want to rid of sin.

Unfortunately, as person, I am not perfect. I will be accountable for all my actions. I will have to answer to the wrongs I have done. That I am not looking forward to. So, what can we do?

Confess Your Sins to God

Even though God knows all things, confess your sins to Him. Talk to him about what is in your heart. Let him know what you did wrong. Let Him hear your confession.

Repent of All Sin

After you have confessed, repent with a sincere heart. Truly, feel the shame of your sin and let Him know how bad you feel for such an act.

Ask For Forgiveness

After you repent, ask God to forgive your sin. Let it be washed away. Let it be gone from your life. Most of all, don’t do it again. Try hard to rid yourself of the thought, action, or act. Ask him to help you overcome your temptation to do it again.

Psalm 38

18 Yes, I confess my wrongdoing, and I am concerned about my sins.

Psalm 32

5 Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing.

I said, “I will confess my rebellious acts to the Lord.”

And then you forgave my sins.

Proverbs 28

13 The one who covers his transgressions will not prosper,

but whoever confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy.

Encouragement

1 Thessalonians 5

11 Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.

Sometimes we just need a little encouragement from one another. Just thought i would post a reminder to myself. I sometimes forget that we can help uplift each other.

  • In case you are in a slump, down, or just want to hear something positive, here are some words to help you make it through another day.
  • We all need a little push to help us brave the day. There are days that are better than others. On those other days where we struggle a bit, it is good to hear positive and uplifting words.
  • We are human. We make mistakes. We stumble. We sin. We get down.
  • Keep your eyes on God and Jesus and watch your day turn into a most beautiful experience.
  • Live life today with God holding your hand.
  • Breath in your surroundings and remember that every sense in us lives with him.
  • Don’t forget that Jesus is here, always, waiting on us.
  • When you see a rainbow, remember God’s covenant.
  • When you feel the breeze, that is God whispering loving words in your ear.

It helped me. I hope it helped you, too.

My Eyes Are on You, God

psalm 139 23
Do your eyes wonder? Do your thoughts make you ashamed? Do you think, maybe, you are not worthy? Then you are human, imperfect, and filled with doubt. That’s Ok. Because as long as we take a breath, as long as we live in this world, our lives will be filled with all the above.

However, there is an answer to our daily struggles, God. If we keep our eyes on him, he will help us through each day. He will remind us not to wonder, not to be ashamed, and not to feel unworthy. You see, the adversary wants us to feel that way so we can take our eyes of God. Don’t let him win.

 Keep your eyes on God

Every day, when I wake up, I wonder what kind of day I am going to have. I wonder if I am going to make it through the day. If I am going to be worthy of God’s grace or if I am going to fail miserably. The truth is that by keeping my eyes on God, I will have the best day possible.

Keep your thoughts on God

When I feel my thoughts attacking me, I think of God and how he works in my life. I read a passage in the bible, or I pray for help in keeping my thoughts on him. I will not allow the adversary to win.

Feel God’s presence in your life

When I take a breath, I feel God’s presence. He gave me the air to breath and the lungs to breathe with. When I open my eyes, I see his masterpiece surrounding my life. The wonders of God are all around us. Each marvel brings a thought of his amazing powers.

If you feel as if you are wondering about life, then do so with God by your side. Let him help you find your way, let him fill your thoughts, and let him remind you that you were worth dying for. He gave us his son Jesus. Why would he not give you a good day?

 Exodus 33

14 And the Lord said, “My presence will go with you”

 Psalm 139

23 Examine me, and probe my thoughts Test me, and know my concerns!

 Mark 12

11 This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

In God’s time

I have had many experiences in the late that have taught me about trusting God. Not only to answer prayers, but also to work on all issues in his time, not mine. Seems like the wait is endless, but the results are fabulous. It amazes me, day after day, how little things can become big things, yet trusting God to be in charge resolves all in a way that we never imagined.

At times, a problem that we can solve in various months through much effort, resolves itself earlier and effortless. That is the power of trust. That is the power of God. When God is in control, all things are possible with unlimited potential for the best outcome.

 2 Corinthians 6

2 For he says, “I heard you at the acceptable time,

 Galatians 4

4 But when the appropriate time had come, God sent out his Son,

It is then, that believing in God, trusting him, and allowing him control takes on great faith. Faith can be the belief in the unseen and the unheard, yet seen and heard. For if we open our hearts, we will see him reveal himself to us, and we will hear what he has to say. Is your heart open to God?

  •  Believe in God
  • Trust Him

  • Allow Him Control

Let blessings flow by giving to him all that burdens your heart, not some, but all burdens. From those as small as a grain of salt to those that take up our entire universe. Let blessing fall in his time. God’s time is the right time.

Beauty of the Rainbow

rainbow

Genesis 9:14

Whenever  I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 then I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures of all kinds.

Do you look at the sky, see a rainbow, and smile? I do. For whatever reason, after all this years on this beautiful earth, I smile when I see a rainbow. I cannot get over its beauty. The colors are bright, the shape is always perfect, and it stays long enough to brighten a day.

The days when the rainbow shows up is on rainy days. What is so beautiful about a rainbow in the sky on a rainy day? I believe it is a reminder that even in our darkest hours, there is always something beautiful that comes with it.

I can be very sick, but the I see my grandchildren, and I smile. Their innocence radiates throughout the room, just like the rainbow in the sky.

I can be walking in the park in the middle of the winter, yet a flower blooms without knowing it should not. The dreariness of winter fades away with the radiating colors of the flower.

I believe beauty surrounds us all. I know there are ugly things that happen, but if all comes with some sort of rainbow, then I can’t help but concentrate on beauty rather than ugliness.

Life is what we make of it. I will make mine a day where the rainbow shows up.

Honor, Obey, and Love

Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.

2 “Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise, namely,

3 “that it may go well with you and that you will live a long time on the earth.”

Most of us regain our respect for our parents after we become parents ourselves. It is unfortunate. If as children or teens, we made a point of listening to them, we may very well avoid much heartache. Although, parents come across as strict, not understanding of our situation, the truth is they have our best interest at heart.

Honor your father and Mother

In order to honor our parents, we must conduct ourselves with respect. We must treat others in a way that shows caring, understanding, and love. We must revere them. We must not act in a way that would be an embarrassment to ourselves and to them.

Obey your parents

We may not want to listen to our parents; however, their advice is wise and knowledgeable. They were our age in the past. They have experienced many of the situations we will, as well. Their wisdom surpasses our age-appropriate foolishness, and can keep us from harm.

Love your Parents

We all love our parents; however, we must show them love. We must let them know how we feel about them. We must be loving when we reference them. We must uphold a loving attitude towards them.  We should do so in speech and action.

If we honor, obey, and love our parents, the Bible teaches us, “we will live a long time on the earth.” We will have years added to our longevity. We will follow their example, as to obedience and respect for God. We will absorb our teachings and learn lessons.

Verse of the Day – February 22, 2015

ruth 2

Verse for the Day

Ruth 2:2-3

One day Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields so I can gather grain behind whoever permits me to do so.”  Naomi  replied, “You may go, my daughter.”

So Ruth  went and gathered grain in the fields  behind the harvesters.

Ruth, knowing that they needed food, went to the field and picked up what she could for her and Naomi. She was willing to pick up only what was left behind. She did not care for her pride, but for a few leftovers on the field that would be sufficient to feed themselves. What a great attitude to have. Instead of whining about going hungry, she did something about it without having to ask for a lending hand. She knew that she must do something about her situation and act upon it.

If only we could have that attitude about all we do in life. We could humble ourselves like Ruth did, and God will provide rewards for our good actions.

Prayer for the Day

Oh! Lord, give us a sense of humbleness in our daily endeavors. Remind us that you see all we do and know when to award your just rewards. Thank you for all the leftovers in life that become a way to an abundant life. If only we could accept our place on Earth, we shall be exalted in Heaven.

For God so Loved the World

john 3 16

Acts 20

27 For I did not hold back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God.

Today, I was speaking to a lady who is a strong believer in the faith. When I told her I manage various blogs for the glory of God, she said I was helping spread the Word of God to many who otherwise may not be able to hear it. Then, I thought, “I am doing the Lords will with my life and helping spread his word. It can’t get better than that.”

I am His vessel. God is using me at his will. All I do is obey his command and spread his Word, the Word of salvation through him, and him only. For there is no other way to eternal life but by believing in Jesus, who died, was buried, and resurrected to atone our sins.

What is the plan of salvation?

A very simple one. Believe that Jesus died, was buried, rose again, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father and we shall have eternal life.

John 3: 16

16 For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

There is no need to add, take away, nor embellish the simple plan of salvation. It speaks for itself. Believe in the Son of God, and we shall be saved.

Prayer for the Day

Lord, today I heard your simple plan of salvation and I believe in your son Jesus Christ. I believe that he died, was buried, resurrected, and is now sitting at your right hand. I accept the truth of salvation and want to live eternally by your side.

If you said this prayer, and believe it in your heart, then you are now a child of God. Read the Bible, join a church, and continue growing in Faith.

God be with you, today and always.

February 20 – Scriptures of the Day

romans 8 3

Scriptures for the Day

Romans 8 1:11

1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

2 For the law of the life-giving Spirit inChrist Jesus has set you  free from the law of sin and death.

3 For God achieved what the law could not do because  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

4 so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5 For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by  the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

6 For the outlook  of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

7 because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so.

8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 You, however, are not in  the flesh butin the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is your life because of righteousness.

11 Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raisedChrist   from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.

Prayer for the Day

I thank you, Lord, for dying for my sins so that my flesh may die each day and allow  your Spirit to uphold in me, so that I may claim victory over sin.

God is in Control: Let Him do the Driving

Psalm 73:24

You guide  me by your wise adviceand then you will lead me to a position of honor.

I have a tendency to drive when I am in the passenger seat. That means that I give directions on how to drive, I press my foot on the imaginary break, and I give my opinion on what route to follow. As a passenger, I have no control over what the driver does. If someone else is driving, I need to understand that they are in control of the vehicle, not me. I have a hard time practicing this simple task. The same situation happens in my relationship with God. He is in control, and I need to trust his driving. I need to trust that he is doing what is best for me, that he takes me at his own speed, and that I need to let him pick the best route for my life.

 What is Best for Me
I have an idea of what I think is best for me, but I found out that he does not always agree with me. I feel as if God has a great sense of humor, although I do not think it so at times. I remember saving a couple of thousand dollars to purchase an old used vehicle. I said to him, If you think a vehicle is for me, maybe it should appear out of nowhere, and let it be parked right in front of my eyes. Ironically, a couple of weeks later, a friend went to trade in his old vehicle and because he was only offered a few hundred dollars, he did not trade it in. Instead, he asked if he could park it in front of the house with a for sale sign. I asked how much he wanted for the car, and to my surprise, he said only $1,000.00. You guessed it. I bought the car.
However, when I asked for the vehicle, I never stated that I wanted to drive it, I just asked for a car to be in front of me and there it was. As it turns out, my daughter’s car broke down a couple of days later. Total engine fail, no fix for it. Since, I worked from home, I let her use it. Once she figured she could not save for her own, she asked if she could keep it. We made an agreement, and she bought it six months later.
I ended up without a car, again. I had been trying to get one for two years. I felt that he knew the circumstances of my daughter ahead of time, and made it possible, through me, for her to get a vehicle. Her work was 45 minutes away and there would have been no way for her to get to it, had I not had one available.

There lies the irony. I thought I had it all figured out, yet he had a different plan, all together.

 At His Speed
A year later, I had decided that I was going to save money for another vehicle, but this time I put my sight on a newer model. I made a budget, and it would take me one more year to save the money for the down payment. In all, it would be two years I would wait to have a car again.
I was speaking to my son about the decision I made, and he said, “Mom, how about if you buy my car, instead.” I asked him how much he wanted up front, and he said, “Absolutely, nothing. You can have it in a couple of weeks.”
Needless to say,  few weeks later, I had a newer model car, no down payment, and a year earlier than I thought possible.
God’s speed is his own. When I thought I was ready to have a vehicle, he made me wait a year, but when I thought I had to wait a year, he did not make me wait.
 The Best Route

After this story, I wonder, “What is the best route to take”? Not because I do not have any direction in my life, but because it may not be the right one. Since I bought the car, there have been situations where I thought I was on the right path, yet, he put on the breaks and made me stop and think. Over the summer, I applied to start my Bachelor’s degree. I was registered, had financial aid approved, and had purchased the books. I was on my way to become a college student. A couple of days before school started, I received an email from Financial Aid, that there had been an error, and I could not get approved.

I contacted the school, spoke to everyone that I could, and the end result was that I had to stop pursuing it. It was short notice, and I could not come up with the tuition. I had to drop. I cried. I was upset. I was disappointed. I looked up in Heaven, and asked him why. Well, I had asked for the right things, but it was not what he wanted me to do. In the meantime, as I browsed the internet, I found out that Yahoo had a network for writing contributors. I looked into it, applied, was accepted, and I started writing. I never thought that while looking for a way to fix my situation, he was leading me into the path that he had laid for me.

Within a few weeks, I started my own website, and started a blog. Before I understood where he wanted to take me, I started writing. I realized that he wanted my voice heard for him. I realized that getting a Bachelor’s Degree was for my own benefit, but that a Blog with him in it, with his guidance, and inspiration, could reach others, which may need uplifting.

It was not but a week into my first blog, that I received a comment. It said, “Thank you, God knew, I needed to hear these words today.” That comment certified that the route I wanted was not at all the best route.

I share this small story because I felt compelled to write about it. I only write when I feel him guiding me to do so. His voice needs to be heard, not mine. Yes, I do the writing, but he gives me the words. He is the author. I am just a vessel. As he writes the story of my life, I put the words together. When the words are wrong, I erase them and he gives me the right ones.

To trust God to be in control is not an easy task. As a human, I question it, but as a believer, I follow it. I have to say, that when I trust him to drive for me, the path is clearer, straight, and the destination is always reached.

Do you trust God to be in control?

Do you let him drive you?

Does he guide your life?

  Psalms
119:35      Guide me  in the path of your commands, for I delight to walk in it.
119:105     Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.

Proverbs

3:6           Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
4:11          I will guide you in the way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths.
